Derek Rowe
Derek is an Albury-based composer, recording musician, singer and theatre writer.
Along with renowned puppeteer Philip Millar, Derek produced and wrote music for the award-winning Pure Puppet Palaver and Tyrannosaurus Sex. He was also the musical director of the 2005 Melbourne International Puppet Carnival. He has produced recorded works for countless Sammy J and Randy productions, as well as countless jingles for Sammy’s 5-year run on Melbourne ABC Breakfast radio.
After starring in his own 2011 one-man musical My Incredible Shrinking Life, Derek has devoted his creative time to writing new musicals. These include lyrics for More Sex Please We’re Seniors (2013), music, book and lyrics for Sexercise the Musical (2015), music and lyrics for Call of the Jungle, music book and lyrics for Bright Legacy (based on the Ern malley poetry hoax) and music, book and lyrics for the COVID 19 romatic comedy I Hear You.
Derek also had the recent privelege of being a composer in residence at the 2022 Australian Music Theatre Festival, creating and performing Launceston the musical in less than a week!

Creative Producer
Malcolm has been a Theatrical Producer for nearly 60 years. His more notable early credits include the original Australian production of Godspell (which ran for five years), the record-breaking London Musical Charlie Girl (starring John Farnham), Bobby Limb’s Norman is that you? and A Star is Torn, which launched Robyn Archer as a major new star.
Malcolm’s first original production was Isn’t it pathetic at his age?, starring the legendary Barry Humphries. This went on to run for two years in London. From there he went on to produce The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Marilyn: An American fable (on Broadway) and Boswell for the defence (Starring Leo McKern).
From there Malcolm’s passion became commissioning and producing brand new works, including Always (On the West End), The Hobbit, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, the original run of Walking with Dinosaurs – The Live Experience and Sexercise the Musical, with co-producer Aleks Vass.
Beyond producing Malcolm also tour managed the legendary Marlene Dietrich on her first two Australian tours, as well as Carrie Fisher in Wishful Drinking. He was assistant tour manager for the Beatles in 1964.
